School is less than three weeks away for most kids. While students are still scrambling to finish their summer reading, parents are looking for inexpensive school supplies that will last throughout the year. To keep your bank account balanced and stay within your budget, here is a list of organizations that have free back to school giveaways in Cincinnati.

Christian Outreach and Wellness Free School Supplies

Free backpacks and school supplies will be will be distributed while supplies last. Children in grades K-12 who live in zip codes 45226, 45230, 45202, and 45208 are eligible. Proof of address and zip code are needed for each student to receive supplies. For more information, call 513-871-8611.

Eligible participants must live in zip codes 45246, 45240 or 45218. School supplies, as well as other services will be provided for those in need. Proof of address for each student is needed to receive supplies. Elmwood Place Library Back to School Extravaganza

Abundant Life Church School Supply Giveaway

Children of all ages, grades and zip codes are welcome to the Annual Back to School Giveaway at the Abundant Life Church. Each child is given a free book bag filled with school supplies. A child must be with a parent to receive supplies. For more information, call 513-742-1159.
Happen Inc Back to School Giveaway

I Dream Academy Back to School Event

11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The I Dream Academy will be hosting their first Back to School event. Face painting, food, drinks and much more will be provided. Children must attend the event with a parent in order to receive a back pack with school supplies. For more information, call 513-873-5181.
This one day event offers free school supplies to those living in the Sycamore School District and Stewart Elementary area. Children participating must attend with their parent and provide proof of address to get supplies. For more information, call 513-489-2023.
Black-owned Boyz Annual Back 2 School Drive

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Black-owned teamed up with OTR Live, PRVLGD, The Illest Sneaker Connection and 160 Promotions to make their back to school event bigger than last year. Children must be present with an adult to receive their book bag with supplies. A jersey signed by Pacman Jones will also be raffled off. Once this event is over, children who receive a book bag can receive free brunch at PRVLGD (301 W. 5th Street, 45202) from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Fore more information, call 513-407-3496.
African American Chamber Back to School Backpack Giveaway

At least 200 backpacks will be given to kids in the community at this back to school giveaway in Cincinnati so they can start the year off right. Norwood Library Teen Thursday Back to School Bash

If you’ve got the back to school blues, this may be the cure for you. Head over to the Norwood Branch Library for one last party before school starts. Not only do you get to play great games such as cornhole, you also get to stock up on personalized DIY school supplies and meet new people. This event is for teens only. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Books Unplugged

Crayons to Computers

This is a not-for-profit free store for teachers focused on the educational and imaginative needs of children in the greater Cincinnati area at schools on this list. All teachers should bring a form of I.D. to pick up supplies. For more information and operations hours, visit Crayons to Computers.
Although these places are more than happy to give all they can to those in need, they can also use an occasional helping hand. Most of the places listed above are open to receiving donations so they can give to a larger audience. If you have a few empty notebooks, coloring supplies, back packs, pens and pencils lying around, feel free to go to call and donate.

Volunteers of America is especially asking for donations of school supplies and back packs to be made. Please download the supply list and fill the back pack. Donations must be dropped off by August 6 at one of their locations. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help the Cincinnati Ohio Police Federal Credit Union (COPFCU) support local children in need during their 2017 School Supplies Drive through August 11. They are collecting school supplies and cash donations to make sure kids start off the school year with everything they need. School supplies can be dropped off at any of the COPFCU locations linked above. For each donation valued at $5 or more (school supplies or cash), that person will receive one entry for the Tundra 45 cooler.
