Alex Spencer Reserve Cigar is a Black-owned premium blend boutique cigar brand. In 2019, Alex Spencer founded the Alex Spencer Reserve boutique cigar company from his home in Cincinnati’s Madisonville neighborhood. The cigars are handmade in Honduras.
The Alex Spencer Reserve cigar was released under the brand name “The Mansa” named after the African King Mansa Musa. Known for his generosity as well as his wealth, Musa was just one of many black historical figures that Spencer’s late father Floyd introduced to him as role models when Alex was a child growing up in Cincinnati’s Westwood neighborhood.
The Mansa cigar is a medium-bodied smoke. The blend is powerful, yet elegant, representing the finest and purest tobaccos from Mexico, Nicaragua, and Honduras. If you like cigars that are bold in flavor and intriguing in strength, this is your cigar. Dark cocoa, espresso notes are the highlight of this blend, with a fine strength to match.
This project debuted in early 2019. Since its inception, it has become well known in niche markets that as soon as they land in the U.S., these fine cigars sell out in weeks. To better supply market demand, Alex Spencer has partnered up with Boutique Smoke to offer a new and direct platform for retailers and connoisseurs.
Alex Spencer Reserve has added three extensions to its Mansa line: a Nicaraguan Habano blend to complement the original Mansa (San Andres) line.
