Encounter Wellness Mental Health Services is a Black-owned mental health establishment offering services for those with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and mood disorders. The clinic was founded by Cassandra Hazelrig, DNP, PMHNP-BC, to assist individuals in obtaining peace and serenity.

The facility offers in-person and telehealth visits to give patients more excellent options. The clinic mainly focuses on medication management, with supportive therapy if needed. A wide range of disorders are treated, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, psychosis, mood disorders, and personality disorders.
Encounter Wellness is designated as a certified Spravato REMS treatment center specializing in treatment-resistant depression. Spravato is an esketamine nasal spray that is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression and suicidal ideation.
About the Owner and Clinic
Cassandra Hazelrig built Encounter Wellness to reduce the stigma of mental health. African Americans seek treatment at a lower rate than other races. Cassandra is dedicated to filling that gap by providing a haven for everyone seeking support and guidance on a mental health journey. At Encounter Wellness, clients are welcomed in a caring and inviting environment.
At Encounter Wellness, Cassandra has prioritized ensuring her patients experience comfort. This includes having a staff ready to answer any questions and help alleviate appointment stress. The clinic also has a variety of complementary snacks, candy, and beverages.
The first step into the mental health realm involves acknowledging one’s willingness to seek support. Whether seeking medication management, telepsychiatry, or a safe space to let out innermost feelings and thoughts, Encounter Wellness will be there for patients every step.
