About the Owner
Jasmine Ford, African American baker and the owner of Jazzy Sweeties Bakery is the only girl of three children. She was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio by a single parent. Jasmine’s mother was a strong woman who previously worked at an Ice cream shop where Jasmine fell in love with cookies and cream. Jasmine always told her mother that one day she would own her own business and was inspired by her mother’s courage and strength.
As a child, Jasmine always had an urge to bake. Her first encounter with an oven was when she was ten years old. Jasmine loved it so much that she wanted bake cakes for all of her family functions. Life got in the way and Jasmine took a different path. It wasn’t until one day when she picked up a cake pan again and felt that passion for baking that she had felt years ago. Jasmine knew then that this would be the way that she could bring love to people and create a positive impact and set out to create Jazzy Sweeties Bakery to do just that.
