Kavod Bethel African and Caribbean Market is a Black-owned grocery store offering ethnic teas, beverages, sauces, herbs, grains, fresh produce, sweets, African art, clothing, and more. Owned by Adwoa Achampong, who was born and raised in Ghana, the store’s goal is to take each customer on a journey through Africa, one product at a time.

Spices and Tea

Herbal teas, beverages, various African, Asian, and Hispanic sauces and salsas, seasonings, herbs, and spices such as Grains of Paradise, selim, cloves, African calabash nutmeg, anise, bay leaf, and curry powder.

Snacks

Plantain, cocoyam fufu, banku, millet, wheat, and sorghum mix. Along with African snacks such as cookies, crackers, caramelized coconut candy, condensed candy, peanut brittle, plantain chips, nuts, dates, fruits, and vegetables.

Fresh and Frozen Produce and Meat

The Black-owned grocery store also offers fresh and frozen produce such as atieke, placali, bitter leaves, and sweet potato leaves. Oxtails, goat meat, liver, beef tripe, cow skin, fish, poultry, crabs, and snails are also available.

Clothing and Art

Kavod Grocery sells beautiful handmade African arts, fabrics, fashionable clothing, jewelry, hand fans, and obi belts. African print purses, beads, and anklets for all genders and ages are also available.

Body Products and Kitchenware

The store is a body and hair care product staple, including Shea butter, African Black soap, and braiding hair. African chewing sticks, calabashes, clay pots, earthenware pots, clay sticks, and African spatulas are also sold.
