About Kemal Catalan
Born and raised just outside Lafayette, LA, Kemal attended Jackson State University and earned a BS in chemistry. A PhD in Bioinorganic Chemistry was earned at Michigan State University, followed by work at The Procter & Gamble Company in various business units as an R&D team leader. Kemal led global teams in developing surface modification technologies for consumer products.
In addition to the R&D leadership role at P&G, Kemal led several diversity initiatives for Black and Hispanic Ph.D. scientists. Active participation in the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) included serving as a key 2021 BLSA Trial Team member and achieving placement at the regional competition. After graduating from law school in 2022, Kemal opened a solo law practice in Cincinnati, primarily representing businesses and entrepreneurs as outside general counsel.
