Owner Ali Coulibaly, originally from Mali, has lived in many parts of Africa and is happy to share interesting facts about the background and cultural significance behind the pieces. Ali traveled around Africa, especially in West Africa, met incredible artisans, and learned so much about technique and cultures from those different regions. By working directly with artisans’ partners from various parts of Africa, Mande Goods creates fair wages and empowers men and women in rural areas.
