Revelation Tutoring Service is Black woman-owned company that offers tutoring sessions at a local public library during days and times that are mutually convenient. The owner is state-licensed to teach elementary kindergarten through grade eight. The current subjects offered for tutoring sessions are mathematics and reading. (If you do not see what you need, just ask.) One session is equal to no less than one hour per subject per week.
During mathematics sessions at Revelation Tutoring Service, every student gets fact practice based on their grade level and academic abilities, test-taking strategies, as well as any other skills and concepts deemed necessary through an initial assessment, observations, and classroom academic achievement or concerns of the parent or guardian.
During reading sessions at Revelation Tutoring Service, every student gets phonics instruction based on their grade level and academic abilities, fluency practice, comprehension practice, test-taking strategies, as well as any other skills and concepts deemed necessary through an initial assessment, observations, and classroom academic achievement or concerns of the parent or guardian.
Revelation Tutoring Service’s prices vary by grade level, which is distinguished between elementary kindergarten through grade eight, high school grade nine through grade twelve, and college ages nineteen and older. Payment at the time of scheduling is required.
About the Owner
The owner has teaching experience since 2001 in urban school systems. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education (with reading endorsement) in 2001, earned a Master of Arts Degree in education (with major in curriculum and instruction) in 2012, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in educational studies (with a certificate in educational leadership).
In the 2017-2018 school year, she assisted in founding a local college-preparatory school for kindergarten through grade eight. During the 2016-2017 school year, 96% of her students passed the Third Grade Reading Guarantee Assessment. Each year she has been rated on the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System, she has consistently rated as an effective or accomplished teacher.
