Island Frydays is a Black-owned, Caribbean-themed restaurant and catering business located on Short Vine blocks from the University of Cincinnati near Clifton Heights, Coryville, and Avondale. Owned and operated by Jamaican native Leo Morgan, this restaurant is dedicated to sharing the island’s hospitality, music, and food.

The staff is committed to providing an atmosphere where every dining experience takes your mind off the day’s worries and carries you away to the warmth of the islands. The restaurant offers jerk chicken, curried shrimp, whiting, shrimp, goat, oxtail, red snapper, and sides such as rice, peas, pasta, plantains, greens, and fries. They also have coco bread for dessert and sweet drinks such as ginger fruit punch and pineapple sweet tea.

Island Frydays offers pickup through their website, Uber Eats, and DoorDash delivery. They also provide a catering service that will bring Jamaica’s flavors to your next party, wedding, school event, or business function with their original and authentic Jamaican cuisine. You name it, they cater to it!

In addition to its full menu, Island Fridays also sells cans of jam known as Island Magic. A little Island Magic brings out the chef in everyone. Glaze over any meat, vegetable, or seafood, and the magic of the islands will be infused into your next meal

In the summer of 2014, the famous Guy Fieri brought the Food Network Show, Diners – Drive-ins and Dives to Island Frydays for two of Leo’s most popular dishes.

Island Fridays has become a popular destination for many in the sports and entertainment field and has seen players from the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, and rapper Rick Ross stop in and enjoy a little taste of paradise while they visit Cincinnati.
