Free Cincinnati Commercial Driver’s License Training Program Description
The Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency offers a FREE five-week Cincinnati CDL training program using Napier Truck driving facilities throughout Southwest Ohio. Students will receive driver training and earn a Class A Driver’s License.
- The free CDL training program prepares students for the written and driving portions of the CDL exam
- This program has rolling enrollment and classes usually start every two weeks
- The training is 100% in person at the Napier Truck Driving School at 160 Truck Driving Academy (off Reading Road) in Bond Hill
- Coursework is completed Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Careers in commercial truck driving will increase your household income and elevate you toward economic self-sufficiency.

Free Cincinnati CDL Training and Certification Program Eligibility Requirements
- Pass the Department of Transportation’s physical examination that includes vision, color distinction, blood pressure, hearing, cardiovascular health, medications, urinalysis, and physical endurance testing
- Agree to a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and violence and pass a drug test during the intake process
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have no felonies in the last two years
- Live in Hamilton County
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Meet income eligibility requirements
- 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or below

Free Cincinnati CDL Training and Certification Program Support
All participants will receive the following intensive supportive services to address barriers to self-sufficiency at no charge:
- Case management
- Assistance with childcare
- Assistance with child support matters
- Emergency financial assistance for rent or utility payments
- Advocacy addressing legal matters
- Life-skills training
- Mentoring
