Cincinnati veteran’s assistance program can help veterans not fall victim to addiction, poverty, homelessness, or suicide.

According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the veteran population is expected to decrease from 19 million in 2021 to 12.5 million in 2046. The total veteran population is decreasing. However, the percentage of the Black veteran population is expected to increase from 13% in 2021 to 15% in 2046.

 

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans reports that 8 percent of adult homeless are vets. Several veterans’ programs and organizations exist in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and the United States. They help soldiers find employment, housing, housing benefits, education credits, medical treatment, and more.

 

Contacting the right Cincinnati veteran’s assistance program can help veterans not fall victim to addiction, poverty, homelessness, or suicide. Veterans in suicidal crisis can now go to any VA or non-VA health care facility for free emergency health care.

The Veterans Benefits Administration offers resources and federal benefits for veterans, including transition and economic development services, education and training, readiness and employment, home loans, life insurance, and pension.

 

To find specific information from the Veterans Administration on veteran resources for special groups, see the following: Vietnam Veterans, World War II Veterans, Gulf War Veterans, Korean War Veterans, LGBTQ+ Veterans, Women Veterans, and Minority Veterans.

 

The National Cemetery Administration offers resources regarding burial benefits, obtaining military records, retrieving a medal, and burial schedules at veterans’ cemeteries. Family members such as a surviving spouse, surviving parent, or dependent child are eligible for some of the benefits the government provides survivors in honor of service members’ sacrifices.
