Lincoln Ware has been honored as Grand Marshal for the 2019 Evanston Memorial Day Parade.


The Evanston Community Council is pleased to honor Lincoln Ware for his service as a Marine, his distinguished career in radio and his promotion of a healthy lifestyle by establishing the Lincoln Ware Walking Club.


This parade is FREE and open to the public. Per last year’s times, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Evanston Recreation Center and make a 2-mile loop through the community. The parade will be followed by a community celebration.


About Lincoln Ware
Born in Cincinnati, Lincoln Ware is a Woodward High School graduate. He served in the Marines on the USS Midway aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War, he served in Vietnam for three years. Upon returning to Cincinnati, he landed a job on WCIN-AM in March 1973. Ware has been heard on WLW-AM, WPFB-FM and WHKK-FM (now The WIZ) during his 40-year career. He left WCIN-AM in 2000 to start WDBZ-AM “1230 The Buzz,” where he conducts interviews and takes calls from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ware started the Lincoln Ware Walking Club about 13 years ago. He keeps in touch with the 300 or so members by posting notes “From the Desk of the Pres.” on the LWWC Facebook page.
