About the May Festival
The May Festival is Cincinnati’s longest-running community engagement project. Music Hall was built for these extraordinary voices, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra exists in large part because of this tradition. For nearly 150 years, nationally and internationally acclaimed guest soloists and conductors have eagerly accepted invitations to participate in the May Festival.
From the beginning, the Festival has relied on the talent and generosity of people throughout the community. Its purpose is to engage, energize, and connect Cincinnati with the highest-quality performances of great choral music. The Cincinnati Musical Festival Association stands as one of the most dynamic forces in the choral world, serving as a leader and catalyst in the production, presentation, and promotion of choral activities locally and globally.
The organization is committed to fostering choral music of the highest artistic standards, preserving its history while enhancing the present and embracing the future, cultivating diverse audiences, choirs, and singers who share a passion for choral music, and operating in a financially sound manner.
