ADVANCE NOW Graduation

Attend the ADVANCE NOW Graduation & EmpowerHer Awards at Woodward Theater on June 6.

Advance NOW is a 12-week intensive professional development training program offering soft skills, leadership development, financial literacy, and life skills to African American women in Metro Cincinnati. On June 6, 30 Young Professional Black Women will be graduating from the 2nd Cohort of Advance NOW.

Keynote speaker City of Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval and opening event speaker Empower GENNOW Network Founder & CEO Renika J. Smiley will inspire us. Ohio State Representative Sedrick Denson and Executive Director of All-In Cincinnati Denisha Porter will be presenting special recognition.

EmpowerHer honorees include:

  • Crystal Kendrick, Publisher of The Voice of Black Cincinnati, honored with the Queen of Leadership Award.
  • Rickell Howard Smith, President & CEO of YWCA Greater Cincinnati, honored with the Trailblazer for Change Award
  • Alicia Reece, Hamilton County Commissioner, honored with the Phenomenal Woman of Purpose Award

Woodward Theatre Venue Details

Parking

Woodward visitors have plenty of parking options, including metered parking, garages, and surface lots. Ziegler Park Garage is located one block east of the Woodward Theater on the corner of Sycamore and 14th Streets. Arrive using Cincinnati METRO.

Accessibility

The Woodward Theater is ADA-compliant, including entry and bathrooms. Seating is always available, and there are two metered accessible parking spaces within 50 feet of the main entrance. Guests can email any special requests before attending a show or event, and the venue will be happy to accommodate.
