Attend AfriFest:Taste of Africa at Sawyer Point on July 18
AfriFest: Taste of Africa returns this July as a celebration of African heritage, culture, and community in Cincinnati. As one of the region’s largest African cultural festivals, AfriFest brings together residents and visitors for a full day of music, cuisine, art, and connection along the downtown riverfront.
The main festival takes place July 18 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.at Sawyer Point. Programming runs continuously throughout the day, allowing guests to move freely between performances, food vendors, and marketplace experiences.
Live entertainment includes DJs spinning Afrobeats, traditional drumming groups, cultural dance performances, and guest artists representing diverse African regions. The outdoor marketplace features African and Caribbean food trucks serving popular dishes, along with artisan vendors offering handcrafted goods, fashion, and visual art.
A dedicated Business and Entrepreneurship Connections Zone highlights Black owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community organizations, creating opportunities for networking and economic engagement.
Pre festival programming takes place July 16 and 17 and features cultural workshops, community conversations, and special showcases that highlight African history, traditions, and contemporary influence. These events create space for learning and dialogue ahead of the main celebration.
