What happens when artificial intelligence intersects with justice, education, culture, and the future of Black communities?
Join us for AI Unveiled, a powerful evening of award-winning film, live music, AI-inspired art, thought-provoking discussion, food, networking, and community engagement at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
This one-of-a-kind Cincinnati experience brings together film, scholarship, music, art, and public dialogue to examine how artificial intelligence is shaping our world and why communities must be informed, empowered, and included in conversations about technology, innovation, and justice.
Admission
This event is open to the public and welcomes students, educators, families, faith leaders, professionals, artists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and anyone interested in the future of artificial intelligence and its impact on our communities.
Screenings and Films
The evening will feature screenings of the award-winning short film Healing from Silence and the documentary AI Unveiled: The Fight for Justice in the Age of Algorithms, written and directed by Cincinnati native Dr. Monique L. Akassi. Together, these films explore issues of resilience, representation, bias, equity, and the human impact of emerging technologies.
Guests will also enjoy a dynamic panel discussion featuring scholars, community leaders, and innovators exploring the promises and challenges of artificial intelligence, including algorithmic bias, education, workforce development, representation, civil rights, and the ethical future of technology.
Entertainment and Education
The event will feature live entertainment throughout the evening. Performers include acclaimed saxophonist Jon Saxx and award-winning vocalist Rocky Chatman. Cincinnati favorite DJ Bizzy Bizz will also perform.
Guests will experience AI-inspired artwork by renowned visual artist Mark Owens, professionally known as Jimmy Haze. His live work explores culture, identity, and innovation.
Attendees can meet the creators and participate in a book signing. The featured book is AI Unveiled: From Techno Bias to Solutions Within Education and Beyond.
Guests can connect with local vendors and enjoy hors d’oeuvres during the reception. The event offers networking opportunities with professionals, educators, students, artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
Mistress of Ceremonies and Moderators
The Honorable Y. Laketa Cole will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies, and internationally recognized speaker and author Dr. Karim R. Ellis will moderate the evening’s panel discussion.
AI Unveiled is more than a film event. It is a movement rooted in awareness, justice, innovation, education, and community impact. Attendees will leave inspired, informed, and empowered to help shape a future where technology serves humanity with fairness, dignity, and inclusion.
