Stepping Stones Enrichment Services, LLC presents Blerds in Tokyo on September 26, 2026, at ARCO in Cincinnati, Ohio. The community event celebrates Blerd culture, creativity, self-expression, and mental wellness through a Japanese-inspired experience.
Youth, adults, families, and community members are invited to enjoy a welcoming environment centered on culture and connection. The event encourages participants to embrace individuality while celebrating shared interests and experiences.

Celebrating Blerd Culture
Blerd culture brings together Black identity and interests often associated with nerd culture. Popular interests include anime, gaming, comics, technology, cosplay, and Japanese pop culture.
These interests can create meaningful spaces for connection and belonging. However, many young people of color also face stereotypes, bullying, harassment, and isolation.
Blerds in Tokyo creates a space for participants to celebrate personal interests without judgment. The event also opens conversations about identity, inclusion, mental health, and self-expression.
Mental Wellness & Community
Mental wellness serves as a central focus throughout the event. An informative workshop and panel will address topics relevant to youth, families, and members of the cyber and Blerd communities.
The programming aims to make conversations about mental health approachable and relevant. Cultural interests provide a familiar foundation for discussing wellness, identity, and healthy self-expression.
Cosplay & Creative Expression
A cosplay contest will give participants an opportunity to showcase creativity and personal style. Guests can dress as favorite characters or attend without a costume.
