About the Program
“Go to High School, Go to College” is a National Program of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity that energizes the need for group discussions on being successful and the challenges of attending college.
This program, established in 1922, concentrates on the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. Statistics prove the value of this extra impetus in making the difference in the success of young African-American men, and women, given that school completion is the single best predictor of future economic success. Through the Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College educational initiative, young men, and women receive information and learn strategies that facilitate success. Alpha men provide youth participants with excellent role models to emulate.
During this session, they will focus on the transition from high school to college, the college application process, the college admissions process, the FASFA process, scholarship opportunities, ACT/SAT information, and more. There will also be a chance for the young men and women to ask questions to presenters, whom have graduated from college and are successful in their careers.
