“Where the blues, jazz, and gospel was a cry out of grief and hope from the suffering of many; Hip Hop architecture, design, and language is a recognition that minority cultures are strong and present. It leads us forward in shaping an alternative economy,” stated Peter Block, a member of the Economics of Compassion Initiative. The use of spoken-word, instrumental musical performances coupled with live paintings, stilt walkers, vocalists, and hip-hop music are designed to spark awareness around social justice issues such as gentrification, preschool to prison pipeline and the impact of toxic debt.

In addition to a wealth of knowledge that will be disseminated from local and national thought leaders, food and refreshments will be available to attendees. Proceeds from the Jubilee By Night Experience will be used to fund the ongoing work of Jubilee Cincinnati including the Jubilee Reconstruction Fund.
