Police Recruit Exam Registration Is Now Open

The Cincinnati Police Department is seeking applicants to sit for the police recruit exam. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment (upon completion of the 28-week training academy), be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED), and be eligible to work in the U.S. with a valid driver’s license. Those who are interested and have questions should come out to a Cincinnati Police Department Community Forum.
To help applicants learn more about careers in law enforcement, the Cincinnati Police Department will host four public forums with current Cincinnati Police Officers. Panelists will discuss and answer questions about their career paths, work/family balance, the future of policing and more. The dates and times are as follows:
– February 1 at District 3 from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at 2300 Ferguson Road, 45238

How to apply to become a Cincinnati Police Officer
Persons ages 19 and older and interested in a career in law enforcement with tremendous opportunity for advancement are encouraged to apply at www.cincinnati-oh.gov/police to begin the Cincinnati Police Department Recruitment process.
The deadline to apply is January 31, 2020. Applicants who qualify will be required to take the next Police Recruit exam in early 2020. Currently, Police Recruits earn $17.22 per hour through the 28-week Police Academy training. Upon successful completion of the Police Academy, probationary police officer ranges from $61,501 to $73,558 after five years (not including overtime).
