The Hamilton County Office of Reentry &  Butler-Warren County Reentry Coalition invite you to celebrate Reentry Week

Did you know that 1 in 6 Ohioans have a criminal conviction? Having a criminal conviction or simply just an arrest can cause significant barriers to obtaining employment, housing, as well as education. The Hamilton County Office of Reentry, in partnership with the Butler-Warren County Reentry Coalition, is hosting its 2nd annual Cincinnati Regional Reentry Week Celebration.

The celebration is on April 24th at the Sharonville Convention Center, 11355 Chester Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45246 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This event is sponsored by the Beacon of Hope Business Alliance, Buckeye Health Plan, and the University Of Cincinnati School Of Criminal Justice. Admission is free, but online registration is required. Registration ends Wednesday, April 17th. More than 80 people participated in the event last year. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.

Also, Hamilton County has given support to returning citizens for years through the Hamilton County Office of Reentry. Join them for the Cost of Poverty Experience: Reentry Edition led by the Think Tank of Springfield, Ohio. A group discussion led by the Think Tank will immediately follow the simulation.

About COPE
The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE): Reentry Edition is a simulation that offers participants a glimpse into the lives of Returning Citizens and families living in the community. COPE portrays real stories of individuals and families impacted by incarceration that go beyond the stereotype of what is seen on the news or written in the paper. They encourage social service providers, returning citizens, community leaders, and employers to participate in their exercises.
