Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with Ensemble Intercontemporain present Contemporary Colors: The Sound & The Ecstasy

CSO Creative Partner Matthias Pintscher brings his Ensemble Intercontemporain, pioneers of 20th and 21st Century music, for a special collaboration with the CSO, Contemporary Colors. The CSO’s own Henrik Heide brings the Aello (‘harpy’) character to life in Olga Neuwirth’s flute concerto, while Pintscher’s Nur, presents a “fiery” dialogue between soloist and orchestra. A rare U.S. performance of Lachenmann’s Tableau studies “non-music, which is again music” and Scriabin’s sublime Poème de l’extase close out the program.

Preceding the performance in the Music Hall Foyer is Jay Schwartz’s Music for Autosonic Gongs, an installation for 8 electro-acoustically controlled tam-tams.

Tickets to Contemporary Colors:

Ticket prices range from $14-75 and can be purchased online or by calling the Box Office at 513-381-3300. In honor of the 200th anniversary, CSO is offering a special ticket price of $18.21 for the concert when you use promo code JCB1821 at checkout.

Parking at Music Hall:

While we know that parking in our vibrant, active neighborhood can be a challenge, we work hard to make parking as easy as possible for our audiences at Music Hall. There are several parking options around Music Hall including a 450-space underground garage at Washington Park. Also, a surface parking lot is available between Music Hall and Memorial Hall. It is accessible from Elm Street and Central Parkway. If you would rather be closer, convenient parking is available at the Town Center Parking (CET) Garage on Central Parkway. The cost ranges from $5-$10. Pricing is not controlled by the CSO and is subject to change at any time.
