Annie Ruth and Cincinnati Arts Association presents Dada Rafiki: The Women Gather


Dada Rafiki: The Women Gather is a life-affirming and inspirational evening of storytelling, music, dance, song and spoken word. It celebrates the power of universal sisterhood and brotherhood and honors phenomenal women in the community through art.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $40 at the door. Admission is $15 for students and groups of 10 or more. All tickets can be purchased at the Aronoff or online.

Hosted by WLWT News Anchor Courtis Fuller, the event will feature artists such as: New York Times award-winning author and poet Sharon M. Draper; Cincinnati Opera guest soloist, Psalmist, and songwriter Andrea P. Thomas; acclaimed dancer/choreographer Jacqueline McClure; and BAOKU Moses, world-class Afro-fusion music powerhouse. Also, back by popular demand is Ed Thomas & Muzic Company, serving as the house band.

Annie Ruth will debut an original interpretive poetry called ‘The Women Gather’, which combines genres of dance, spiritual, hip-hop, African and modern dance, and spoken word. Purchase tickets and experience Dada Rafiki: The Women Gather.

Internationally respected poet, visual artist, author, and arts educator is Cincinnati-based. Her work empowers the community and celebrates the human spirit. Annie Ruth maximizes her roles in venues world-wide using her gift to reach audiences from all walks of life. For over three decades, she has created literature, art and events to honor positive women, as well as established programs to promote positive fatherhood engagement, reading and literacy.
