DCDC looks forward to presenting a few energy packed selections from our repertory – crowd favorites that will be sure to have the audience moving in their seats!

Wawa Aba by Stafford C. Berry is a contemporary take on African dance and offers an allusion to embodied perseverance. Stepping Into Season comes from our collection of works set to Wynton Marsalis and was choreographed by two of DCDCdance artists, Qarrianne Blayr and Countess Winfrey. The work is an exploration of milestones in one’s journey through life. Finally, in Shed, by Kiesha Lalama, our dancers examine the process of shedding the layers of personas and expectations to reveal the true identity underneath.

About DCDC
Dayton Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 1968 in Dayton, Ohio to create performance opportunities for dancers of color. Five decades later, it remains rooted in the African American experience, committed to the development of diverse movement artists on the global stage.

The culturally diverse company is dedicated to exceptional performance and quality community engagement. DCDC has toured the world, dancing onstage for packed houses in Bermuda, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan and South Korea.
