About the Artist
After nearly 30 years of selling out venues across the country and around the world, Nathaniel “Earthquake” Stroman has mastered his craft as a beloved comedian, actor, voice artist, and radio personality. He has surpassed even his own expectations, continuing to thrive in the comedy arena while building a lasting connection with audiences. His critically acclaimed Netflix special Chappelle’s Home Team – Earthquake: Legendary was praised by The New York Times as the funniest comedy special of its year. Earthquake first captured the hearts of fans in the 1990s, during the peak era of televised stand-up for urban comedians.
During that time, he became a standout presence on shows like BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Laffapalooza, and Shaq’s All-Star Comedy Jam. His collection of comedy specials on DVD further cemented his reputation as one of the era’s most memorable comedic talents. Beyond stand-up, Earthquake expanded into television, appearing on talk shows and digital platforms while building a strong on-screen presence. One of his most notable roles was as the beloved “Uncle Mike” on the hit sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, which introduced him to an even broader audience.
He went on to secure recurring and guest roles on series such as In the Cut, Rel, and South Side, showcasing his versatility as a performer. Most recently, he has appeared on The Neighborhood alongside Cedric the Entertainer and continues work on the popular series Johnson, which drew over five million viewers per episode in its first season. He has also been featured in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, further expanding his television resume. In addition to acting, Earthquake hosts the popular radio show Quake’s House on Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Network via SiriusXM, where his candid humor and celebrity guests keep listeners engaged.
