Edgemont Inn Tavern Re-Enactment

Attend the Edgemont Inn Tavern Re-Enactment at Harriet Beecher Stowe House on July 10.

On Friday, July 10, the Harriet Beecher Stowe House will host an evening of jazz music, storytelling, and culture during the Edgemont Inn Tavern Re-Enactment. This event is open to adults only from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Presented in collaboration with The Voice of Black Cincinnati, the event pays tribute to the Edgemont Inn, a historic Green Book-listed tavern and boarding house once operated by Irene Bacon during the segregation era. Housed within the same property that now honors Harriet Beecher Stowe. This re-enactment revives the spirit of a place that once served as a vital refuge for Black travelers and the Walnut Hills community.

Event Highlights

The event will feature live music by The YOLO Band, who will bring the sounds of the 1940s to life through jazz, swing, and blues.

The evening’s guide, storyteller Brandi La’Sherrill, will weave true tales from the Harriet Beecher Stowe House between songs that echo their spirit.

Visitors can also enjoy local food vendors, drinks, and retail shopping on the grounds, celebrating both the past and the present through music, storytelling, and community.

Admission to the Edgemont Inn Tavern Re-Enactment

Admission is Pay What You Can with a $10 suggested donation, and the event is open to adults only. Seating will be provided, though guests are welcome to bring folding chairs without covers, footrests, or attachments. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
