Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at the Biennial Convention of the International Association of Black Professional Fire Fighters Inc. The convention will be in the North Central Region and hosted by the Cincinnati African-American Firefighters Association, also known as CAFA.
A highlight of the week includes a dynamic keynote address from Dr. Umar Johnson on Thursday, August 20, 2026 — bringing thought-provoking insight and powerful dialogue to the convention stage.
This year’s theme, “One Flame, Many Generations United by Mission, Fueled by Purpose,” reflects the commitment to legacy, leadership, and unity within the fire service.
The theme seems especially fitting: “One Flame” evokes the collective fire service (shared profession, shared struggles/commitments), and “Many Generations” suggests honoring past, present, and future Black firefighters — bridging legacy, current service, and future recruitment/community impact. “United by Mission, Fueled by Purpose” speaks to continuing the organization’s long-standing mission of equity, representation, and community service, while also pushing forward with purpose and solidarity.
