About Gary Owen
Owen grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and has always had a passion for comedy.  After leaving his ceremonial position in the US Navy, Owen became a military police officer at the Naval Installations on Coronado Island in San Diego.  During this time, he returned to his true calling: stand-up comedy.

Audiences can see Owen in his most recent comedy special, “I Got My Associates” currently on Showtime.  Last year, Owen starred in his eponymous docuseries “The Gary Owen Show” on BET. It shows the dynamic of interracial family life with his wife and children in small-town Ohio.  Owen is the first Caucasian actor to star in their own series on the network.

In addition, Owen works closely with the nonprofit Facing Addiction. Having lost his own brother to heroin addiction, Owen regularly speaks and performs to raise awareness and support for the organization’s mission.
