Corryville Recreation Center
FREE

The Greater Cincinnati Realist Association and Prost Morgan Group are proud to announce the GCRA Homeownership Fair on January 28, 2023.
A grand opening of the first Greater Cincinnati Realist Association (GCRA) Homeownership Fair. The GCRA Homeownership Fair aims to help expose future buyers to the homeownership process from Pre-Approval to closing. Participants will have the opportunity to talk with housing professionals on-site to provide information on a variety of related subjects:
- Grants for First-Time Homebuyers
- Credit and Budgeting
- Mortgage Lenders
- Home Insurance
- Inspections
- Appraisals, etc.
GCRA Homeownership Fair Goals:
Black homeownership in the Cincinnati Metro Area is around 33%, while White homeownership is approximately 73%—a 40% gap. The same April 2021 Zillow research found that the gap in Cincinnati is also worsening. Nationally, the Black homeownership rate went up by 0.5% between 2018 and 2019, but in Cincinnati decreased by 1.7%.
GCRA wants to try to bring that level down a bit. By providing lenders who will be on-site to pre-approve buyers, with Realtors like GCRA president Darrick Dansby on-site. There will also be inspectors, insurance agents, and appraisers to help home buyers understand the home-buying process in detail.
Registration to the GCRA Homeownership Fair:
While registration isn’t necessary, pre-registration is greatly encouraged. Participants must not be Cincinnati residents to attend the GCRA Homeownership Fair. For questions, contact Darrick Dansby via email.
About Greater Cincinnati Realist Association
The Greater Cincinnati Realist Association is a collection of minority professionals in the real estate industry in the Cincinnati area. GCRA’s mission is to provide democracy in housing and increase the Black homeownership rate to help increase Black Wealth. The GCRA works to provide multiple financial, social, and tax benefits to aspiring minority homeowners while promoting a professional workplace.
GCRA president Darrick Dansby aims to demystify the homeownership process and lessen the gap in Cincinnati. Darrick explained in an interview with WCPO that first-time homebuyers could get a little intimidated about purchasing a home. Darrick views simplifying this as the first crucial step in closing the gap, stabilizing our neighborhoods, and, ultimately, generational wealth.
