Migos is a hip-hop trio from Lawrenceville, Georgia, comprised of family members Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. Known as purveyors of trap music, the group has ignited global trends like the dab and their mixtapes and videos have gone viral. Among their notable hits are “Versace” and “Bad and Boujee.”
Their song “Bando” became a 2012 local hit and caught the attention of Atlanta producer, Zaytroven and trap-superstar Gucci Mane. Zaytroven began to work with Migos, and introduced them to Kevin “Coach K” Lee, who became their manager. In June the following year, Migos released their mixtape YRN, which featured Gucci Mane among other guests. As a result, it appeared on a Billboard chart for the first time — reaching No. 74 on the US Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. Their big breakthrough came in October 2013 when Drake contributed a verse to a remix of their song “Versace,” which propelled the group into the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.
About BlocBoy JB
American rapper BlocBoy JB emerged in 2017 with a pair of viral hits that highlighted his speedy rhymes and big bass production from longtime producer Tay Keith. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, JB flirted with gang-related criminal activity before quickly immersing himself in his music. After releasing a series of well-received mixtapes, he caught the attention of Canadian rapper Drake, who collaborated with him on the viral single “Look Alive.” The track reached the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100, and helped solidify JB’s fan base.
About Tee Grizzley
Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley scored a viral hit with his debut single, “First Day Out,” which appeared on YouTube in late 2016. A handful of singles were released during the first few months of 2017, including “From the D to the A,” featuring Lil Yachty. The commercial mixtape My Moment arrived that April and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 44, despite no guest appearances to boost its profile.
Following a few more singles, Grizzley and Chicago rapper Lil Durk released the collaborative mixtape Bloodas in December 2017. Grizzley’s first official album, Activated, appeared in May of 2018, and hit the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Well known for single “Get It In,” La4ss is a rap artist who dropped a debut mixtape called Streets Affelliated. He later released a mixtape titled Hood Hottest Youngin. He burst onto the rap scene game in 2015 with one of his first singles being titled “Trap Jumpin.” The “ss” part of his name stands for “Street Sweeper.”
