Attend On Freedom’s Doorstep: A Celebration of Cincinnati Black History at Heritage Village Museum on June 6.
Heritage Village Museum and The Voice of Black Cincinnati will host On Freedom’s Doorstep: A Celebration of Cincinnati Black History on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Heritage Village Museum in Sharon Woods Park. This event celebrates the lives and contributions of Black Cincinnatians from the city’s chartering in 1788 to the end of World War I in 1919.

Admission to On Freedom’s Doorstep: A Celebration of Cincinnati Black History
Advance online tickets will be available for $8 per person closer to the event. At the door admission is $10 per adult ages 12-64. Adults ages 65+, children ages 4-11, and SNAP beneficiaries with identification are $5. Heritage Village Museum members and all children under 3 are free.

Parking
Heritage Village Museum is located inside Sharon Woods Park. A Hamilton County GreatParks parking pass may be required. (They may be purchased at the park gate. The village is located behind the Sharon Centre. There is plenty of parking in the Sharon Centre lot.
Physical Accessibility
- Accessible parking and drop-off locations can be provided upon request. Please call 513-563-9484 to arrange this service.
- A wheelchair can be provided upon request. Please ask a staff member or volunteer.
- Benches are located outside of most buildings.
- The pathway at Heritage Village Museum is compacted gravel. Most wheelchairs, strollers, wagons, etc. will handle this surface. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Historic Southwest Ohio (HSO) operates the Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center. This private, non-profit organization owns and operates the buildings and collections of the Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center, a picturesque gathering of 13 authentic historical buildings that represent various aspects of family life during the 1800s. These buildings include historic homes, a train station, a doctor’s office, a general store, a church, and a schoolhouse.
