The Taming of The Shrew – Play Through March 25

The Taming of The Shrew will be at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company from March 3 to 25
Watch a series of hilarious attempts to tame the “shrew” in this unexpected reimagining of The Taming of The Shrew. Beloved and beautiful, Bianca has everything except a husband, thanks to overbearing parents and a headstrong sister, Katherine. Bianca’s suitors enlist some help to woo Katherine and let Bianca get married, leading to some feminist hijinks and hilarity.
Director Jemma Alix Levy takes this controversial play by storm by reimagining the Induction that frames the main story. The original Induction, often dropped by other theatres, tells the story of a nobleman tricking a drunk tinker, Christopher Sly. C.S.C. brings this tale into the 21st century, not just learning from the story but watching Kristina and Amy’s reactions.
This production is led by numerous talented individuals working as a team. The set design is by Samantha Reno; the lighting is by Chris Hollow and Robert Stimmel. Kristina Sneshkoff and Kevin Semancik designed the costumes and sound design, respectively, with Kara Eble Trusty as the Properties Designer.
