Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio presents 28th Glorifying the Lions

The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (ULGSO) presents its 28th Annual Glorifying the Lions Ceremony, honoring six (6) outstanding community leaders. Ashley Kirklen hosts the ceremony, which first airs Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 7:30 pm EST on WLWT Channel 5.

Glorifying the Lions recognizes community leaders 65 years of age and over who have impacted the Cincinnati community by their words, deeds, or actions. Christie Kuhns, interim president & CEO of the Urban League, observes: “Through their selfless work, these six Lions have improved the lives of those around them. In this regard, the Urban League is proud to celebrate its contributions to the community. They have shown us how impassioned, purposeful, and committed leadership can transform our city into a vibrant place where all can thrive.”

Lion Honorees for 2022 are:
•DONNA JONES BAKER: Retired President/CEO, ULGSO
•MICHAEL D. CONNELLY: CEO Emeritus, Mercy Health; Former Board Chair, ULGSO
•COURTIS FULLER: On-Air TV Personality, WLWT & Emmy-award-winning journalist
•KAY GEIGER: President, PNC Bank, Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky
•AURELIA CANDIE SIMMONS: Retired ULGSO Team Member & Community Volunteer
•LINCOLN WARE: Veteran Radio Broadcaster & Talk Show Host, WDBZ-1230 AM
