Walk the Road to Recovery Returns to Covington!

Transitions, Inc. will host the annual Walk the Road to Recovery community celebration on Friday, September 11, 2026. The free event will honor National Recovery Month through live music, food, storytelling, and community connection.

Now in its fourth year, the event raises awareness about Substance Use Disorders and recovery. The evening also highlights available treatment resources while sharing a message of hope: recovery is possible.

Admission

Admission is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

The evening will feature “We Recover Together: An Unfiltered Conversation.” Dave Manheim, creator and host of the Dopey: On the Dark Comedy of Drug Addiction podcast, will lead the discussion.

Local entrepreneur and content creator Gabbie Egan will join Manheim and members of the local recovery community. The conversation will include honest stories, humor, and perspectives on recovery. An audience Q&A will follow the discussion.

Event Schedule

5:00 p.m. – Free food, mingling, and live music
5:45 p.m. – Welcome from Transitions and remarks from local officials
6:00 p.m. – Featured conversation with Dave Manheim and Gabbie Egan

Featured Guests

Dave Manheim has hosted Dopey since 2016. The podcast combines humor and honest storytelling about addiction and recovery. Manheim’s work has helped make conversations about recovery more accessible.

Gabbie Egan is a veteran, small business owner, and content creator. Egan openly shares a personal sobriety journey through social media and other platforms.

About the Event

Transitions, Inc. is a Northern Kentucky nonprofit providing addiction treatment and recovery services. The organization uses National Recovery Month to connect community members with resources and support.

Walk the Road to Recovery also recognizes International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31. The event aims to reduce stigma and demonstrate that treatment and recovery are possible.
