Preventing medical debt is possible.

Removing medical debt from credit reports is more accessible thanks to proposed changes under the Medical Relief Act of 2021. Although the law wasn’t enacted, three major credit bureaus implemented revisions encompassing consumers’ rights to medical debt collections. Changes included granting additional time to settle healthcare bills and minimizing the visibility of most medical debt on credit reports.
