Job Description

The Legal Aid Society of Southwest Ohio (LASSO) is accepting applications for full-time attorneys to join our Hamilton, Ohio, office. Legal Aid, a nonprofit law firm, reduces poverty and ensures family stability by providing practical legal assistance.

LASSO is an affiliate of the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati. We represent clients in civil legal cases. We participate with nonprofit agencies and other groups to improve systems and policies affecting low-income people.

This position would be in our Hamilton office, representing clients in family law matters such as divorce, custody, and civil protection orders and representing children as Attorney/GAL.

Qualifications

Applicants already admitted to practice law in Ohio, licensed in another state, eligible for temporary admission, or otherwise intend to become eligible to practice in Ohio will be given priority. The successful candidate will have:

Strong academic record
Excellent organization, writing, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload that involves a significant
amount of litigation
Creativity and problem-solving skills
Reliable transportation to serve clients in a multi-county service area
We prefer applicants with prior experience advocating for low-income clients, but it is not required

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary is $60,000 or more, depending upon experience.
