BTC-BAA Fellow
Fellowship Description
Applications are now being accepted for the third annual Black Theatre Coalition • Broadway Across America (BTC-BAA) Fellowship program. This program takes place over 14 weeks each Spring semester.
This intensive educational program begins with weeks of in-depth learning in one of the following Broadway Across America offices. During this time, fellows will learn about Producing, Presenting, Ticketing, Marketing Strategy, Operations, and more. During the last week, the Fellows travel to New York City for networking, on-the-job learning, and to see Broadway shows.
The BTC•BAA Fellowship works to address and combat the lack of racial representation in the Broadway industry by introducing young, Black-identifying professionals to the commercial theater business and equipping them with the tools necessary to be successful in the industry. It also provides a foundation of mentors and colleagues to whom they can turn for support as they pursue a career beyond the stage.
Qualifications
Must be a Black-identifying undergraduate junior/senior, graduate student, or early career professional interested in the theater business.
Students pursuing degrees in Arts Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations/Communications, Theater Studies, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Pre-Law, Arts Ticketing/Sales/Operations, and other fields of study related to commercial theater presenting are welcome in the program. Various perspectives, backgrounds, abilities, and opinions are encouraged to apply.

About Black Theatre Coalition
T. Oliver Reid and Warren Adams founded the Black Theatre Coalition (BTC) during the Summer of 2019. They identified the disparity between the growing inclusivity onstage versus the almost nonexistent Black professionals offstage. They invited their colleague, Reggie Van Lee, to join them as Co-Founder in their march towards dismantling the systemically racist and biased ideology in the theatrical job space. Black Theatre Coalition officially filed as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in June 2020.
