Join our team as the new Center Director at our Play Time (Colerain) location, responsible for running a full-day early childhood program, including administration, curriculum, and daily operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and supports factors related to the operation of a child care center, ensuring that the programs meet all state, local, and YMCA regulations and standards.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the program are developmentally appropriate and meet the participants’ physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
  • Prepares and administers the annual program budget; identifies future needs, calculates costs, and articulates and plans for conditions during the budgeting process. Monitors and manages program revenues and expenses according to the approved budget.
  • Plans and implements all aspects of center operations to maintain current NAEYC Accreditation.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates program staff and volunteers.
  • Prepares and monitors staff schedules, modifying them to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors an annual training plan for staff, ensuring that the team receives training sufficient in content and quality to meet program requirements and needs.
  • Promotes, organizes, and implements program enrollment, ensuring optimal registration at all times.
  • Monitors center health and safety practices, ensuring adherence to state, local, and YMCA standards.
  • Plans and implements maintenance of the center to ensure that program facilities and equipment exhibit high maintenance, cleanliness, presentation, and repair standards.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and maintains ongoing communication with supervisor and appropriate staff members.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field or significant employment experiences directly related to the functions of the position.
  • Must meet all Center Administrator criteria as outlined in the state and local government licensing requirements of the Department of Human Services; and NAEYC Accreditation.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to engage in all activities associated with the daily care, activities, and routines of an early childhood program, including but not limited to: interacting with children at floor level, physical education activities such as running, jumping, etc., lifting children and equipment, supervising groups of children, participating in outdoor activities, field trips and swimming as needed.
  • Must possess oral, auditory, verbal, and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with children and adults.
  • Must possess and demonstrate positive public relations, customer service skills, and decision-making and leadership skills.
