Job Description
The Village of Lincoln Heights is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian
to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of municipal buildings and
facilities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a clean and welcoming environment
for residents, staff, and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, hallways, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
- Restock the restroom and janitorial supplies
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned
- Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor
- Assist with room setup and breakdown for meetings or events
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in proper working order
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required
Work Schedule
- Approximately 15–25 hours per week
- Evening and/or weekend hours may be required
