Job Description
The Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati and Legal Aid of Southwest Ohio are seeking a Staff Attorney to provide legal representation and advocacy for low-income individuals and families. The position involves handling a full range of legal services, including representation in court and administrative hearings, while collaborating with nonprofit agencies and community organizations to help stabilize families and improve systems that impact underserved populations.
Staff attorneys typically work across two practice areas, including Housing and Consumer; Income, Work, and Health; Family and Immigration; and Children & Education. This role offers an opportunity to advance equal justice and create meaningful impact throughout the community.
Qualifications
Applicants must be admitted to practice law in Ohio, be licensed in another state and eligible for temporary admission or be registered for the July 2026 Ohio Bar Exam. Additional requirements include:
- Experience advocating for the interests of low-income client
- Strong academic record
- Excellent organization, writing, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation to serve clients in a seven-county service area
