Applications are open for the second cohort of the Greater Cincinnati Youth Mental Health Corps, a paid AmeriCorps service opportunity for young people with lived experience who are passionate about supporting other young people on their mental health journeys. Those selected will be trained and supported to become Certified Youth Peer Supporters, then placed with host sites to support youth by providing peer support, mentorship, behavioral health education, support navigating resources, and a safe space based on their own lived experience. The program year runs from September 2026 through August 2027, with members serving 20-24 hours per week. If you know a young person who may be a strong fit, please encourage them to apply.

The AmeriCorps Youth Peer Support Specialist will provide direct peer-to-peer support, mentorship, and guidance to youth who are experiencing challenges related to mental health, substance use, navigating difficult life transitions, or other social-emotional needs. Documentation

Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions with youth, progress toward goals, and referrals. Specifics will come from host site.
