Are you interested in a part-time position that involves community leadership? Applications are currently being accepted for Program Leaders at the Dan Beard Council Boy Scouts of America.

Dan Beard Council is in search of outstanding individuals from all backgrounds, majors and career interests. The Dan Beard Council Outreach Program provides additional resources to Scouting programs operating in inner-city, rural and other communities. Our goal is to provide assistance to struggling communities and create healthy foundations for our youth. If you think you are ready to shape and impact the lives of students, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in-school and after-school programs
  • Program Leaders will work a maximum of 20 hours per week for $15 an hour
  • Execute a lesson plan that will be provided to you and ensure that every youth participates
  • Act as mentor, advisors and developmental guides to urban and under-served youth

Career Growth Opportunities

  • Develop project management skills
  • Training in communication skills, the role of a mentor, diversity training and skill acquisition
  • Youth develop training
    Insight into the life of a youth and youth culture
  • Opportunity for occasional hours on Saturday

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old with high moral character
  • Have reliable automobile transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check
  • Prior experience working with youth desired, but not required
