About the Owner
The owner of Cora’s Cakery, Shaucuana Knight, loves the art of cake making and is excited to be a part of the Greater Cincinnati area. To Shaucauana, baking has always been a hobby that didn’t become a career until August 2020.
The Black-owned Cakery was created for three reasons: To honor Shaucuana’s grandmother, to do something that Shaucuana loves, and to make a difference in the community. The mission of Cora’s Cakery is to create an elegantly delicious experience for the customer.
Shaucuana’s grandmother was not a baker but an excellent cook. Shaucuana’s grandmother was the designated cook every holiday, no questions asked, and focused primarily on the hearty courses. Shaucuana was the baker of the family, the one always bringing the desserts.
The Cakery will carry on Shaucuana’s grandmother’s memory as a great woman, so when Shaucuana created Cora’s Cakery, a similar vibe was incorporated with the customer. The customer will focus on the main meal, while Cora’s will focus on the show-stop dessert the family can enjoy after dinner.
