Attend the Health Fair at Southern Baptist Church in Avondale on September 12

Southern Baptist Church, located at 3556 Reading Road in Avondale, is sponsoring a free Health Fair for men and women on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church has members who reside in a wide variety of Cincinnati neighborhoods, and believes Cincinnatians across the board can benefit from the information, resources, screenings, and activities that are being planned.

The Health Fair will be emceed by Cincinnati’s own Vice Mayor, Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney. The specific activities planned will include discussions led by experts in the areas of cancer, diabetes, gun violence, and mental health. There will also be health screenings for high blood pressure, cholesterol, and cancer.

Additionally, vendors and community organizations will provide helpful information and resources regarding:

  • cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • voter registration
  • cancer
  • women’s health
  • Medicare
  • healthcare disparities
  • finding a doctor
  • mental health
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • physical training

Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about important health and wellness topics, ask questions, connect with community resources, and receive information that can help them make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

In order to add a bit of family fun and emphasize the value of physical activity to our overall health, the Health Fair will also feature line dance training along with outdoor activities including a bouncy house, cornhole, and a football toss. Children and families are welcome to participate and enjoy the day together.

The Hoxworth Blood Center will be sponsoring a blood drive during the event, giving attendees an opportunity to help save lives through blood donation. The Cincinnati Fire Department will also have its safety trailer on site, providing another valuable resource for individuals and families.

Hosting this Health Fair is an extension of Southern Baptist Church’s commitment to serving both the congregation and the greater Cincinnati community. The mission of Southern Baptist Church is to make and mark disciples, and its C.O.R.E. values guide the fulfillment of that mission. These values emphasize being Christ-centered, outreach-driven, responsible stewards of God’s blessings, and committed to excellence in serving others. They inspire efforts that extend beyond the walls of the church to create meaningful opportunities to serve and bless neighbors throughout the community.

The 2026 Southern Baptist Church Health Fair reflects that commitment by bringing together health education, preventive screenings, community resources, physical activity, family-friendly activities, and service opportunities in one location. Individuals seeking health information, connections with local organizations, opportunities to donate blood, or a positive community event for their families are encouraged to participate.

The event is free and open to the community. Neighbors from Avondale and throughout Greater Cincinnati are welcome for a day focused on healthier lives, stronger families, and a stronger community.
