About Jubu Smith
Jubu Smith is a renowned guitarist and soulful artist whose sound has shaped R&B and soul for decades. Best known for his 25+ years as lead guitarist for Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and his work with Tony! Toni! Toné!, Jubu’s playing is defined by a warm, expressive tone that blends technical precision with deep feeling.
Raised in Oakland, California, he has performed and recorded with artists including Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Boyz II Men, and Mary J. Blige. Now stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Jubu continues to build on that legacy with a sound rooted in soul, gospel, and funk.
