The Checkup Zone: National Fatherhood & Family Wellness Summit

Attend The Checkup Zone: National Fatherhood & Family Wellness Summit on October 17 at The Holloman Center for Social Justice!

The Checkup Zone: National Fatherhood & Family Wellness Summit is a free gathering designed to bring fathers, families, community leaders, professionals, and organizations together around the health and wellness of fathers and men. The summit centers an important message: taking care of fathers strengthens families and communities. The event combines fatherhood conversations, health and wellness, community resources, leadership, and lived experience in one accessible gathering.

Admission

Admission is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

About the Event

The program includes opening remarks from Mayor Aftab Pureval, Ashiko Hudson speaking on behalf of the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, a panel of local leaders on cultivating health as fathers and men, and our keynote, Ickey Woods, former Cincinnati Bengals running back, who will share his fatherhood journey and how he navigated losing his son. His Jovante Woods Foundation will be on site providing free health screenings for fathers and children.

There will also be community resource tables and lunch.

About Fathers’ UpLift

Fathers’ UpLift empowers fathers by offering therapy, reentry support, advocacy, and workforce development. We encourage collaboration with mothers and engage the community to help fathers overcome barriers (racism, emotional, traumatic, and addiction) that prevent them from being actively involved in their children’s lives. Our goal is to ensure the well-being of children and foster long-term family stability.
