More than a concert, History of R&B combines legendary music with dynamic visual storytelling to create an experience that is entertaining. Driven by large-format video content, the production places each era of music within its broader cultural context. As audiences travel through the decades, they experience a fast-moving visual timeline highlighting significant political, social, economic, and cultural moments occurring alongside the music that defined each generation.
The show begins with the pioneers who laid the foundation for soul music before moving through the Motown era and into the powerful sounds of 1970s soul, where music became a vehicle for self-expression, social commentary, and everyday life.
