Job Description

This seasoned and dynamic leader will develop and execute a vision for a comprehensive continuum of workforce services that leads those served to economic prosperity and ensures regional employers have the talent pipeline to meet their business needs. The workforce development professional will have a proven and dynamic work history as a leader in the workforce education field.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • The Director will lead and provide oversight to program services not limited to but including nationally recognized skill training, pre-apprenticeship services, job readiness, and career coaching, adult education, comprehensive case management, employer services, and volunteer recruitment and engagement while ensuring outreach and marketing, continuous learning and improvement, detailed reporting, and program evaluation.
  • The Director will supervise and develop staff, create and manage program budgets, write grants to ensure sustainability and growth, oversee planning and contract compliance, and foster positive and productive relationships with community partners and funders, resulting in program impact and outcomes.
  • Administrative duties are broad, and expectations are high in this position.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred, with at least ten (10) years of demonstrated applicable experience, including strategic and annual planning, budget development and management, program development, and oversight, grant writing, community relations, and public speaking as well as a deep knowledge of workforce development systems.
  • A successful candidate must be a professional critical thinker and problem solver who utilizes sound judgment.
  • Possess a proven commitment to creating a continuum of services that leads customers to self-sufficiency and employers to an increased knowledge of job quality, a leadership philosophy built on investing and developing talent, and a focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • A demonstrated belief in the inherent dignity, resilience, and potential of the individuals and families we serve.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess public speaking ability and excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
