Job Description

A typical day in the life of an Introduction Specialist involves serving as the primary contact for individuals seeking eligibility for Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services. You will take phone calls, emails, and walk-ins to guide individuals through eligibility.

As an Introduction Specialist, you will send out intake packets and process, review, interpret, and upload medical records and other documentation related to developmental disability diagnoses. You will provide resources for those determined eligible and alternative resources for those determined ineligible for our services, as well as complete referrals to appropriate programs and services. You will play an integral role in establishing the services and resources needed by residents of Hamilton County.

Hybrid–remote and HCDDS Support Center: 1520 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45206.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming calls to the agency regarding eligibility for services.
  • Review medical, psychological, and school records to confirm a qualifying developmental disability diagnosis.
  • Coordinates completes and disseminates information necessary for the eligibility process.
  • Provides information and resources without regard to eligibility throughout the introduction and eligibility process.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, including coordination of services; maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in psychology, special education, human services, or related fields.
  • Knowledgeable of medical and diagnostic and statistical manual (DSM) terminology.
  • Familiarity with the Ohio Guardianship process.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a social services setting is required.
  • Able to pass agency background checks and driver’s abstract.
  • A passion for improving others’ lives, which I have demonstrated through superior customer service.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and an appreciation for the work behind providing social services to the community.

Compensation & Benefits

  • 36.25 hour work week, full-time role. Hourly position paid bi-weekly.
  • Flexible schedule and hybrid work-from-home options.
  • One week of paid vacation and 15 sick days are immediately allocated upon hire. Three personal days are provided per year, with an employee start date. Starting vacation accrual of three weeks per year.
  • The starting salary range, determined by the formula accounting for years of experience, is $45,240.00 (base rate) to $56,550.00 (10 years of experience performing this same job or job with primarily the same duties).
