Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll be vital in ensuring medication accuracy, interacting with patients to answer questions, and managing pharmacy inventory to keep operations smooth. You’ll work closely with pharmacists, using your organizational skills and commitment to patient care to contribute to a positive healthcare experience.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications with precision and care.
  • Interact with patients, ensuring exceptional service and addressing inquiries with professionalism.
  • Manage inventory and assist in maintaining a well-organized and efficient pharmacy workflow.
  • Receives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy.
  • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.
  • Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of drugs.
  • Establishes and maintains patient profiles.
  • Answers telephones to discuss or answer patient requests or questions.
  • Assists patients at the pharmacy by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
  • Receives and stores incoming drugs or other related pharmacy supplies.
  • Verifies invoices and physical quantities received of incoming items.
  • Monitors medications in the pharmaceutical inventory to keep in stock medications current and disposes of outdated medications.
  • Works with buyers or purchasing agents to keep medications in stock to acceptable levels.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Pharmacy Technician License in Ohio.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting

 

Preferred

  • PTCB National Certification
  • Experience: Two years of pharmacy technician experience
